Leicester Rape Crisis has been providing support for women in Leicester and County for over 30 years. We are a busy office and last year alone we received one thousand, eight hundred calls to our helpline received 255 referrals and delivered 2231 sessions of support to 188 women and young girls.
We have a team of 26 volunteers who undertake most of this work, with two part time administrators. In addition we have a young persons’ worker and an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor. We offer counselling and support from our base in Leicester, but also offer outreach counselling in the County
We are also a campaigning organisation, raising awareness of sexual violence, delivering an education programme through our Stay Safe campaign and challenging the unacceptable fact that sexual violence is still so prevalent in our society today.
We are seeking to recruit the following posts to enable us to realise our vision.
£13,658 Hours: 25 per week Location: Leicester City

Leicester Rape Crisis (LRC) provides a confidential and free service to any woman or girl who has been raped or sexually assaulted, now or in the past. We have received a four year grant from the National Lottery’s Big Lottery Fund to help us to deliver and expand our current services. In order to undertake this work, we are looking to appoint a new Telephone Helpline and Support Coordinator to help us deliver our Reaching Out To Women and Girls project.

Main Purpose of the post :
The Telephone Helpline and Support Coordinator will be responsible ensuring the smooth running of the telephone helpline and the organisation of online counselling service and support and undertaking client assessments.
The post holder will manage helpline volunteers and sessional staff in order to deliver an online and telephone counselling service. The post holder will work alongside the Volunteer Coordinator to develop and deliver t he Leicester Rape Crisis volunteer strategy to ensure that we have a robust and dynamic volunteer team that is able to meet the needs of the organisation and its service users.
As an occupational requirement, the post is open to women only under the exemption afforded by schedule 9 part 1 of the Equality Act 2010
