  • HMICFRS (Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services) is carrying out research on police abuse of position for a sexual purpose.

To clarify, this means those working in the police, who use their position as a police officer to identify/access individuals with whom they want to engage in sexual activity (e.g. sex workers/people in prostitution, children or young people, victims of crime).

The Inspectorate want to hear from victims and survivors of this form of abuse, who have had their case investigated by the police, and this would have needed to happen in the last 5 years.

Please note, the Inspectorate is independent from the police. If you know of survivors who may be willing to speak about sexual violence and abuse from a police officer, there would be an interview with vouchers given to survivor participants for remuneration.

The contact at the Inspectorate is quite realistic about expectations, and know that this is a difficult to find group. However, if you have a service user who would welcome a space to speak about their experiences, please contact [email protected] Phillips CEO
